Friday Afternoon Classes
Heirloom Lace Knitting
1 pm - 4 pm
Have you always wanted to knit heirloom lace doilies, tablecloths, christening gowns or shawls like you see in Victorian movies? This class will use the stunning lace pattern collections of Gloria Penning to teach you the basics of circular knit lace. We will learn how to chart 19th century patterns and how to adjust patterns for modern yarns and styles of knitting. Students will have sample patters to use in class and access to all six books to get inspiration. (Used with permission of the author.)
Materials included are yarn needles, graph paper and handout with patterns.
Students bring sharp pencil with eraser and basic knitting notions. Must be comfortable with knits and purls.
