Continuous Strand Weaving On a Small Frame

Bex Oliger

3 hrs
1 pm - 4 pm

Beginning
$60

Learn this magical technique for creating triangles, squares, or rectangles of woven fabric that can be joined together to make shawls, scarves, pouches, rugs, pillows, etc. Bex’s mother wrote THE book on this method! No measuring, warping, or math needed for this class. Finish a complete project in 3 hours! Try our popular washcloth loom. This is a great way to learn more about continuous strand weaving with no initial investment in the loom and equipment.

Class includes use of looms and tools, materials including yarn, written handout and instruction. Students who purchase their loom will receive a $10 discount at time of purchase. Students should bring scissors.

Tapestry Crochet

Unfortunately, this class is cancelled.
Barb Arnold

2 hrs
1 pm - 3 pm
Beginning
$45

In this class you will learn how to make a small Tapestry Crochet bag.  This is the technique used to make the Mochila Wayuu bags.  You will learn all the steps needed to make a large style bag while working on the smaller size bag in class. All yarns will be included in the class kit.
Extra hooks will be available for use during class.  Students should be able to chain, single and double stitch.
You will need to bring different sizes of crochet hooks as we will be working with 3 ply cotton yarn, with very tight stitches: B, C, or D, scissors, stitch markers, and tapestry needle to weave in ends.

Wool Applique

FULL

Rachel Cody

3 hrs
1 pm - 4 pm
All levels
$40

This class is open to all skill levels. No homework or supplies required from students unless they have their own fiber or embellishments they wish to incorporate. I will have a kit prepared to complete a pin cushion jar and needle wallet. Or you can take creative liberties and make a coaster or trivet instead. I will highlight all the reasons wool is the best for applique and show you the most common embroidery stitches to make some amazing pieces. This method is versatile, as once you have the basics you can build on it and make table runners, earrings, quilt blocks, brooches, etc. Your mind is your only limit.
